COVID-19 Update
What if I am a new patient?
Dr Jorgensen will continue to see all new patients in his rooms including urgent surgical cases and first-time consults for bariatric consults.
After this, consults will be via the virtual consult clinic here.
You may be asked to have your bloods taken downstairs on the same day as this initial consult, and these results will be provided to you by Dr Jorgensen during a subsequent phone consult.
Rest assured that all protective measures are taken in rooms, patients will be staggered to come in individually and will be seated 1.5m apart.
All online consults will incur standard fees and standard Medicare rebates which will be sent to your designated bank account, usually within two business days.
What do urgent patients need to know?
Doctor Jorgensen requires that all urgent patients, including patients with severe abdominal pain, suspected appendectomy, hernia, gallstones, pancreatic, stomach or oesophageal cancer or other urgent Upper GI conditions see him for the first consult in person.
These patients may be asked to have all their bloods taken downstairs on the same day.

What is the Virtual Clinic?
Dr Jorgensen will be conducting most non-urgent medical consults in our virtual clinic as of March 30th, except for urgent surgical cases, new patients and first-time bariatric patients.

Otherwise call our friendly practice manager Digna on 9553 7288.
As elective surgeries in Australia have been cancelled until further notice, there will be an expected backlog of cases when surgeries go back to normal in the coming months, so it is vital that bariatric patients continue to stay on track whilst they are waiting for surgery.
Dr Jorgensen and our nurse practitioner Silvia can discuss any co-existing conditions you have, and help you achieve optimal weight loss required in the pre-surgical period.
You will also have an online consult with our dietitian Penny before and after your surgery, which can also be carried out online.
As people with diabetes and obesity are in a higher-risk group for COVID-19, it is even more important to keep blood sugars on diet on track during the pandemic, to maximise the body’s immune response to the virus. Keeping regular appointments will help you stay on track.
