Upper GI Procedures

  • Anti-reflux surgery, also known as Nissen Fundoplication surgery, is a procedure to treat gastro oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It can usually be done as an overnight  procedure.
  • Hernia Repair  - This involves a surgical correction of a hernia – a bulging of internal organs or tissues through the wall that contains it. All hernias that are causing symptoms will generally require surgical repair.
  • Gallbladder Surgery - Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) involves the removal of the gallbladder and gallstones through several small cuts (incisions) in the abdomen. Stones that are causing symptoms (pain) constitute an indication for cholecystectomy.
